FAQ

Common questions about Global Maths Club

Which platforms are supported?

Windows, macOS and Linux. There is no mobile app: Global Maths Club is a desktop workspace, designed for sitting down and doing maths.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. That's the core design: after the first sign-in, notes and exercises live on your computer and the app works fully offline. An internet connection is only needed to create the account, to sign in again after a long offline period (more than 7 days), and to sync in the background when one is available.

In which languages is it available?

French and English: the app, this website, and every email. Use the FR / EN toggle in the website header; the app follows your system language and can be changed in its settings.

Is my data safe?

The platform was built security-first, and we only claim what the app actually does:

  • Work is stored on the device, not spread across third-party services.
  • Sign-in uses modern authentication with signed, verified sessions.
  • Repeated failed sign-in attempts progressively lock the account, so a password can't be guessed by force.
  • Security events (sign-ins, password changes, account changes) are recorded in an append-only audit log.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

On the sign-in screen, choose Forgot password?. Your browser opens a page where you enter your email address; if an account exists, a reset link arrives by email. The link is valid for 30 minutes.

Why does the app open my browser to sign in?

For social sign-in (Google, GitHub) and password resets, the app hands over to your regular browser. That way you type your credentials in a browser you already trust, and the app itself never sees them. The browser then sends you back to the app. If that handoff fails, see the troubleshooting entry.

How much does it cost?

The project is young. Whatever happens around it, our goal is that a student with a modest computer can do maths. Pricing announcements, if any, will be made on this site before anything changes.
